Jero! Jero!

Written by Cara J. Hayden

Japan’s latest pop sensation, Jero, was named the Best New Artist at the 50th Annual Japan Record Awards this year. Jero, also known as Pitt alumnus Jerome White Jr. (SIS ’03), sings traditional enka songs—one of Japan’s oldest forms of music— while entertaining crowds with his hip-hop gear and dance moves. Check out Pitt Magazine’s profile of him in the Fall 2008 issue.
