Freshman Brandon Hang, a trombonist who is pursuing a pharmacy career, is the winner of the 2008 Pitt/BNY Mellon Jazz Scholarship, a $5,000 tuition prize awarded annually and judged by a panel of nationally recognized jazz musicians.

Two Pitt projects—involving enterprise storage solutions and guest wireless computing access—were named laureates by the international magazine Computerworld’s Honors Program, which salutes information technology that benefits society.

Pitt’s law school launched a new concentration in sports and entertainment law for the Master of Studies in Law program.
