Reconnect

Thanks to all of you who updated your information for the new alumni directory. We anxiously await December delivery. Don’t wait until then to reconnect with your Pitt pals, though. Homecoming weekend (Oct. 22-25) will be the perfect time to get together. Last year’s inaugural All Pitt Alumni Reunion was a tremendous success. Make sure you join us for this year’s extravaganza on Friday, Oct. 23, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Cathedral of Learning Commons Room.

At our annual meeting in May, we had the opportunity to recognize some of our most dedicated volunteers. You’ll see them in the scrapbook section (p. 50), which also includes photos of students who studied dinosaur bones and other natural wonders at the University of Pittsburgh Allen L. Cook Spring Creek Preserve in Wyoming this summer. The preserve is one of the special resources that Pitt students can take advantage of these days.

The alumni section also contains stories about graduates who are using their Pitt educations to succeed. For example, one story features James Hill, Pitt’s 1996 Homecoming King, who’s now an investment manager and community volunteer. Don’t miss the crowning of this year’s Homecoming King and Queen at halftime of the Homecoming game when we play South Florida. I hope to see all of you in October. Hail to Pitt!
